The
car illustrated is a 1969 Merlyn MK 9. Originally, this car
ran with a 1 litre F3 Screamer engine and was later
adapted, in period to MK11 Formula Ford specification. If
you look very carefully at the undressed picture
at the top of this page, you will see evidence of its
earlier incarnation: there are additional strengthening tubes
and cross members in the chassis. This
Merlyn Mk 9/11 has been constantly raced since 1969 and is now
run by a brother and sister team in the Formula Ford AND Classic
Racing Cars Championship.
